At both events, he proposed renewable energy-based solutions to address the growing electricity demand from data centers driven by the rapid expansion of AI.

During the panel discussion at the Cloud & Datacenter Convention, CEO Kim identified the speed, scalability, and sustainability of modular data centers as their key competitive advantages. Compared with conventional data centers, modular data centers can be built within a matter of months, can be expanded incrementally as demand increases, and can be flexibly integrated with renewable energy infrastructure such as solar power and energy storage systems (ESS).

In his presentation at the AI DC SEMINAR, CEO Kim highlighted the inevitability of transitioning to clean energy as data center electricity demand surges with the adoption of AI. He shared examples of the latest technology transitions, including global IT companies’ RE100 strategies, stronger environmental regulations for data centers in Korea, and liquid cooling technologies, stating: “A new level of energy supply and demand strategy is needed at the intersection of AI and ESG.”
CEO Kim concluded by emphasizing: “Based on our accumulated expertise in renewable energy and power infrastructure, OCI Power will provide eco-friendly, ultra-high-efficiency data center solutions tailored to the AI era, while pursuing both ESG and technological innovation.”
