OCI Power Co., Ltd. (CEO Heo Ki-moo), a Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do-based company specializing in the production of equipment for solar power generation, announced on the 20th that it will unveil new products, including a large-capacity outdoor solar inverter for DC 1500V systems featuring multi-MPPT technology, at the “2021 International Green Energy Expo,” scheduled to be held at EXCO in Daegu from April 28 to 30.
Established in 2012, OCI Power has conducted businesses spanning project development, power plant construction, management and operation, completion guarantees, and ESS applications, based on its extensive experience developing and operating solar power plants in Korea and overseas, including a large-scale 600MW power plant in Texas, United States.
According to the company, OCI Power expanded both the quality and scope of its business by acquiring the Korean operations of inverter specialist KACO New Energy Asia in January 2019. The company currently develops solutions required for solar power generation at its in-house R&D center, which combines German and Korean technological expertise, while manufacturing the developed products at its plant in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do.
At the 2021 International Green Energy Expo, OCI Power plans to promote its environmentally friendly renewable energy businesses from multiple perspectives, including solar power equipment such as inverters, switchgear and distribution panels, PCS for ESS, and DC combiner boxes, as well as IPP (Independent Power Producer) and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) businesses. Products to be exhibited include the KS-certified “blueplanet 50” inverter for DC 1000V systems, newly developed wall-mounted 10-channel and 20-channel combiner boxes for solar power generation, a 500kW transformerless outdoor inverter, and a series of large-capacity multi-MPPT inverters for DC 1500V systems.
At the exhibition, the company plans to promote the “OP2500 TL-H OD,” a 2.5MW-class inverter for DC 1500V systems. The product is a large-capacity multi-MPPT outdoor solar inverter that enables flexible plant configurations ranging from 1.5MW to a maximum of 3MW. It also incorporates the latest three-level topology and features an IP65-rated enclosure with salt-damage protection for installation in coastal areas.
OCI Power CEO Heo Ki-moo said, “Through numerous large-scale projects, OCI Power has provided solar inverter solutions recognized for their efficiency and reliability, while also offering optimized ESS deployment solutions based on our expertise in ESS systems and power technologies.” He added, “At this exhibition, we will focus on highlighting OCI Power’s brand competitiveness and differentiated technological value.”
